Dieses Album vereint mehr als sechzig Kompositionen und spannt einen klanglichen Bogen vom Mittelalter über Renaissance und Barock bis in unsere Zeit. Kurz: Eine Zeitreise vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart.
Enthalten sind Stücke von alten Meistern wie Vivaldi, Bach, Hotteterre, Dowland, Telemann, auch Volkslieder, oder auch dreizehn Originalwerke im Blues-, Jazz- oder Latinostil des britischen Flötisten Alan Davis. Die Auswahl hat der renommierte tschechische Flötist Jan Kvapil getroffen, auch als Autor von Blockflötenschulen bekannt. Die ausgewählten Stücke haben einen mittleren Schwierigkeitsgrad. Die Stücke sind sowohl für Flöte solo als auch für Flöte mit Begleitung (Gitarre, Klavier/Cembalo) als auch für 23 Blockflöten. Die Ausgabe verweist auf kostenloses Zusatzmaterial: Es stehen 32 Audiobeispiele zum Download zur Verfügung. Man kann die Stücke unbegleitet hören oder in verschiedenen Begleitungen (Cembalo, Klavier, Laute, Gambe, Schlagzeug), auch in verschiedenen Tempi.
